About Us

What is SKP?
SKP stands for Sekretariat Keadilan dan Perdamaian or the Office of Justice and Peace, an integral part of the Catholic Diocese of Jayapura. This office was established by the Bishop of Jayapura, Most Rev. Dr Leo Laba Ladjar OFM on 1 July 1998. Since 15 August 2005, the Diocese of Jayapura and the Franciscans Friars in Papua agreed to establish the Board of Founders to assume all responsibility of this ministry. This offices focuses on five priorities including advocacy on the situation on human rights in Papua, research and documentation, inter-faith dialogue, peace and reconciliation and ecological justice. Who are SKP?
SKP is entrusted to the Franciscan Friars in Papua. Currently, there are seven full-time staff: two Franciscans and three lay women who work together in the office as well as two part-time staff.

Where is SKP located?
SKP is located in Jayapura (the Provincial Capital of Papua) at the office of the Catholic Diocese of Jayapura.
